SAFETY MANAGER Description We are seeking a motivated and energetic Safety Manager for our Fort St. John Head Office that is looking for an excellent schedule, competitive wages, benefits, and to be part of our great team. The Safety Manager is responsible for advising, directing and assisting in the development and execution of the Safety Program. The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations are adhered to and policies and practices are adopted, help plan, implement, monitor, train and review the protective and preventative measures that the company is required to follow. Status Full Time Location Fort St. John, BC Responsibilities Assist in the coordination of a centralized, uniform Safety Program throughout all departments of the organization; Working with managers to communicate requirements of the Safety Program to all workers; Set the requirements for safety reporting, investigation, inspection and awareness for the Company; Manage Drug and Alcohol testing and program; Maintain, update and oversee the Emergency Response Program including the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Manual and facilitate emergency drills; Acting as an advisor to all levels of Management within the company on matters affecting operational safety; Knowledge of the Federal Regulations affecting Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace; Liaise and report to Transport Canada, Transportation Safety Board of Canada, ERSDC, WorkSafeBC and WCB AB where Safety reporting requirements dictate; Performing internal maintenance audits for the Company’s Certificate of Recognition (COR); Completing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI’s) in regards to Audits from regulatory bodies and clients; Maintain and update the Quality Assurance Program for the Flight Operations Department; and Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements 5+ years previous safety experience preferably in an Aviation environment or similar role; 3 years recognized Health and Safety Certification or Diploma or related Aviation Industry experience is an asset; Fully qualified CRSP an asset; Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required; Solid keyboarding skills with the attention to detail to find and correct errors in documents; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and deliver safety education and training; Supervisory and management skills; Ability to work independently and in a team environment; Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail; Work Conditions We offer an exceptional work environment with ethical, approachable, accountable Management Team.
